Early buyers of David Weekley’s newest Central Park homes discover a haven of trails and wildlife near neighborhood
By Mark Samuelson
David Weekley homebuyer Eric Stollar and his family are still months from moving into their home in Central Park’s newest neighborhood, Beeler Park, but Stollar hasn’t waited to start using one of the amenities. Last weekend he set off from his David Weekley homesite and hiked into the 25-square-mile Rocky Mountain National Wildlife Refuge, just a quarter-mile north of his home.
He shot pictures across the lakes, one of them with two miles of shoreline and island waterfowl habitats, and the prairie expanses where a growing bison herd roams against a backdrop of Front Range peaks. “It’s a gem,” he says of the park, noting that he took particular interest in the miles of hiking trails, wildlife viewing and fishing information — several lakes have northern pike, large-mouth bass and other species.
