Forest City (now Brookfield Properties) has received an ENERGY STAR Certified Homes Market Leader Award. This award recognizes the important contribution Central Park has made to energy-efficient construction and environmental protection by being a community that built 503 ENERGY STAR certified homes built in 2014. Collectively, these homes will save buyers approximately $120,900 on utility bills each year.
The environmental benefits of these ENERGY STAR certified homes are equivalent to reducing CO2 emissions by 850 metric tons, or:
- Growing 21,629 tree seedlings for 10 years
- Avoiding the consumption of 1,976 barrels of oil
- Removing 179 passenger vehicles from the road
Central Park received this award last year as well for building over 403 ENERGY STAR certified homes.
