Bluff Lake Nature Center
Located at 3400 Havana Way Denver, CO (80238) is a beautiful wildlife refuge perfect for people, kids, and families who love the outdoors but don’t have much to do during the summer months. Bluff Lake Nature Center is adjacent to the Central Park community, and is just south east of Sand Creek. The people who work and volunteer at Bluff Lake spend a lot of time and effort maintaining this ecosystem and educating the public about nature and how to help preserve it.
There are many dedicated volunteers who help maintain this 123 acre nature center. You will see them working in the gardens and teaching classes. The nature center holds educational nature classes for kids and adults. In fact, there have already been over 5,000 elementary school students who have toured the nature center. They also have summer camps and other activities for the kids.
And if you like to donate your time in your community, this nature center is a great place to volunteer. They can always use your help tending to this huge area. Due to all the rain we’ve been having this season, Bluff Lake and Sand Creek are especially beautiful nowadays. You always see people exercising, looking for animals, and looking at the lake over the sea of cattails
So go, volunteer your time, bring your kids, and learn more about nature. And remember to report any suspicious activity.
