The Lowry Foundation is launching a new Film Series in 2020!
The first film is the “Reluctant Radical” on January 29 at 7 pm, at the Eisenhower Chapel located at 293 Roslyn St.
Tickets are $10 adults, $5 for children under 12.
THE RELUCTANT RADICAL is a documentary film that follows activist and Oregon resident Ken Ward as he confronts his fears and puts himself in the direct path of the fossil fuel industry in an effort to combat climate change. The film reveals both the personal costs and also the fulfillment that comes from following one’s moral calling– even if that means breaking the law. Audiences may not always agree with Ken’s actions, but his perspective and urgency promote discussion and introspection about whether any of us are doing what is needed to avert the environmental catastrophe at our doorstep. This is a film that engages both our hearts and minds, fostering dialogue, reflection and engagement.
The filmmaker, Lindsey Grayzel, will be in attendance and will be available for a brief presentation following the film.
