A Home to Grow Into: The Sanders’ Story

Nick and Laura Sanders had made an offer on a home in Harvard Gulch, and after the inspection they realized that the home had issues and would require a good chunk of change to fix it up.  They wanted a more sound investment, a long-term fit for their future needs, and a home they could grow into.

After checking into other new home developments in the city, they eventually chose to have a new Cottages Collection home built by David Weekley Homes in Central Park’s eighth great neighborhood, Conservatory Green.

The Sanders were familiar with Central Park.  They have friends who live in the Central Park West neighborhood, and Laura would make the trek from Green Mountain to Dick’s Sporting Good Park for weekly soccer matches.  Now, she only has to look out her front door to catch a glimpse of the stadium.  “Nick travels quite a bit for work and we find the location to DIA a much easier commute than before, and my job is now only four minutes away,” said Laura.

“I also love the green-living aspect of Central Park; energy-efficient homes, the focus on urban gardening, and the fact that the RTD rail to downtown and DIA will soon become reality and a station will be right here in Central Park,” said Nick.

“This place reminds me of growing up in Washington Park”, Laura stated.  “Young families are here that are in the same place in life as we are.  It’s a great vibe!”

The Sanders said that their home buying experience with David Weekley Homes was awesome, and that Elizabeth Finnerty, their sales person, was fun to work with.  She made great suggestions on options to enhance their home that they otherwise would not have considered.

“Conservatory Green is a vibrant and picturesque neighborhood with new parks being built. It’s a progressive and diverse design with smaller lots but acres of parks focused on bringing people out of the house and into the community,” Nick shared.  “We believe our investment in Central Park will sustain its value, if not grow in value.”

The Sanders’ next step as residents is to visit the Master Community Association and obtain their resident pool card.  While there, they will inquire about leasing a garden plot in one of the several community gardens sprinkled throughout Conservatory Green.

The Sanders also look forward to meeting their new neighbors and friends, maybe over drinks and dinner across the street at The Shops of Northfield.

Welcome home, Nick and Laura!
