Andrea Rothstein knew she was meant to live in Colorado.
So when HGTV built its 2011 Green Home in Central Park, it inspired her to take a closer look.
“That really jumpstarted my research on Denver and Central Park. I looked at everything online,” Andrea said. “Central Park was great. It had the schools and new builds we were looking for.”
She and her family closed on their home the day before Thanksgiving and just celebrated their first Christmas in the community.
“It was everything I had hoped for and dreamed about,” Andrea said.
Andrea and her husband, Derrick, chose KB Home’s Villa Collection in Bluff Lake neighborhood, partially drawn by the floor plan and courtyard outside her front door.
“It really came down to the price point and location,” she said. “Originally, I wanted to be in the middle of everything, but this is still close and convenient. It’s just a quick drive to trails … and The Shops at Northfield is right up the street.”
One of her daughters also attends Isabella Bird Community School, which will be in a new location a couple blocks from their home.
“The school could not have been a bigger blessing,” Andrea said. “Schools are big for me. We were leaving an amazing school district when we moved to Colorado, but the schools and the promise of schools are exciting here.”
Now the Rothsteins are getting to know their new neighborhood.
“We’ll literally go on park scavenger hunts – we’ll just explore the first park we see,” she said. “We love it.”
Andrea realized a neighbor she met through a local moms group lived next door. And she meets new friends every week. “Central Park has a small town feel in the middle of the big city.”
She and her family are also enjoying their StapleFun: “We love the movies and events on The Green … and we love to stop by the library,” Andrea said. “It’s nice to always see people you know.
“We love the community,” she said. “You don’t have to go out and make Central Park a special place – it already is.”
