Our Neighbors – Riverfront Park Neighborhood

Riverfront Park a community near Stapleton

Denver’s Riverfront Park is a far cry today from where it started in 1858 when prospectors arrived in the Central Platte Valley seeking gold. But residents there feel as though they’ve struck gold anyway.

With a cornucopia of residential, businesses, restaurants, nightlife and transit options, Riverfront Park is hot, cool, lively and relaxed all together.

Riverfront Park is just nine miles from Central Park, bound by Little Raven Street, and 15th and 20th Streets adjacent to downtown Denver. The neighborhood boasts a less than one mile trek (on foot if necessary) to access all it has to offer.

Nestled between the newly revitalized Union Station, LoDo, Elitch Gardens and Coors Field, residents and visitors can eat at one of the area’s top restaurants, relax on the banks of the Platte River, shop at the many retail shops at The Promenade or enjoy breathtaking views from the Millennium Bridge.

But make no mistake, there’s an abundance of green space in the neighborhood to ward off cabin fever or the metropolitan crunch despite its urban design.

There is room to stretch out in the 80-acre Commons Park, go kayaking on the Platte River, check out the Denver Skate Park, and watch your canine friend enjoy the Railyard Dog Park. And to suit up for all of the recreational activities, REI’s flagship store is smartly located just blocks away.

Finicky palettes will love the combination of Asian and Latin-themed entrees at Zengo Denver, breakfast at Mona’s, French fare at Bistro Provencal or indulging at the Inside Scoop Creamery; an ice cream lover’s dream. You can also sample some of Colorado’s finest wines at Raven Vineyards.

For those dedicated to making as small of a carbon footprint as possible, RTD offers commuter rail to Denver International Airport. And Union Station can whisk commuters to all corners of the U.S. and back.

Overall, Riverfront Park has something for everyone from millennials, to families, to empty nesters.
