Your favorite Colorado local running store has opened a new location! After 40 years of inspiring and equipping Colorado to enjoy the run, Runners Roost is announcing the opening of their 9th location across the Front Range, located in the Central Park community at Quebec Square. “As the Denver metro area continues to grow and expand, we saw an opportunity to match that growth in one of the newer sections of town,” explains owner and General Manager, Kent Wories. “Being a community-oriented organization, we want to be close to our customers.”
And that is exactly where the new store will be; located on the corner of 35th Avenue and Quebec Street, the shop will be easily accessible to runners, walkers, and fitness enthusiasts in the surrounding neighborhoods of Central Park, Park Hill, Northern Aurora, and Lowry, along with travelers coming into town from DIA and anyone traveling through on the I-70 corridor.
With the Sand Creek Trail, Central Park, and miles of pedestrian pathways so close to the store, the Roost hopes to become a center for community runs, training groups, and neighbors of all fitness levels. “Fitness and a healthy lifestyle are becoming increasingly important across the country and especially here in Denver,” says Wories. “Running and walking provide a great foundation for most people’s fitness routines. When looking around Central Park and the surrounding areas the importance of this healthy lifestyle is evident with all the bike shops, barre studios, and other fitness outlets. Runners Roost is excited to round out that list with a community running store.”
Meet Holly Amend! Holly is the store manager at the new Central Park store! She has worked with us for the past three years and enjoys running, reading, and playing the trombone on her time off. You’ll find her working the store and enjoying the local breweries around the Central Park community. Other faces you will see greeting you once our doors open: Jacob Flaws, Jason Romero, Christina Heppermann, Kacey Kendrick, Ryan Parker, and Nancy Velasquez. We can’t wait for you to meet this amazing team! They are trained to provide every customer with a gait analysis and fit you in the right shoe for your needs.
Their Grand Opening on March 15 – March 19 was a huge success with a Furry Friends Photo Shoot, Pub Run, and A Four Friends Kitchen Brunch Buffet. The staff loved meeting so many folks from the community who stopped in. We hope you stop in and say “Hi!” or join them on Monday nights at 5:45pm for their weekly run club. The party continues on Monday nights at Station 26 where all Central Park run club members receive 20% off their beverages.
