There’s something about economic optimism and the onset of the autumn season that just makes business executives want to jump start their business building efforts during the last quarter of the year.
And once again, Denver’s African American business community took advantage of that combination at the recent Forest City (now Brookfield Properties) sponsored Strictly Biz networking event.
More than 100 members attended the groups quarterly networking event created by the Denver Black Pages (DBP). On October 15, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and other corporate partners came together for an evening of business-building opportunities, vendor presentations, networking, refreshments and entertainment.
DBP’s founder Carla Ladd and Forest City’s (now Brookfield Properties) Director of Marketing, Tasha Jones, welcomed guests, with Strictly Biz updates and Central Park development highlights.
“We’re so excited to host Strictly Bizness tonight,” Jones said to the crowd. “We’re eager to share with you information about Central Park as a wonderful place to live, as well as a smart location for doing business.”
Jones provided an overview of the 10 neighborhoods in Central Park; and invited guests to learn more about its latest neighborhoods, Willow Park East and Wicker Park.
Jim Chrisman, Senior Vice President of Forest City (now Brookfield Properties), also enlightened the crowd with Forest City’s (now Brookfield Properties) Business Ready features, including available office spaces, prime locations, amenities, and the availability of Business Ready tours for business owners.
Vendors on hand included Norma Paige, who invited guests to attend the upcoming 100 Men Who Cook fundraiser, as well as Priscilla Brown of the Black United Fund, and Nyle Boyd of Nyle Skin Care. Denver’s own Pat Duncan, author of A Defining Moment: Barack Obama: The Historical Journey to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, was also there to announce the paperback edition of her book, which was nominated for an NAACP Image Award.”
“I couldn’t be more appreciative of Forest City’s (now Brookfield Properties) support of the Denver Black Pages and the Strictly Biz event,” said Ladd. “Tonight was such a success and our partnership with them has been rewarding for us, and for this community. I’m gratified by their appreciation of what we’re trying to build in this community.”
