Meet the businesses of the Central Park Business Association: This is the sixth in a series of articles about association members.
Jim ‘N Nick’s
Paul Bestafka, Local Owner
Brookfield Properties: Why did you choose to locate in Central Park?
Paul: Central Park is a very exciting and dynamic area of Denver to be a part of. Not only is it the premiere neighborhood to live in, raise a family in, and work in, but it has also become one of the most exciting shopping and entertainment districts outside of the downtown area. The proximity to DIA, Downtown, and interstates I-70 and I-25 make this an incredibly convenient area to shop and play in.
Brookfield Properties: What do you like about this community, compared to other office areas such as downtown and DTC?
Paul: What I love most about this community is the great thought and planning that has gone in to it. Central Park is such a wonderful area for a family because of all the pocket parks, pools, central gathering areas and shopping choices. It is also a great place for young urban professionals and college students.
There are great restaurants, lively social centers, and plenty of outdoor activities throughout the year to keep everyone happy! I love the concerts in the park and the Central Park Beer Fest in particular. It’s a great way to get out and meet your neighbors in a fun atmosphere.
Brookfield Properties:What are your plans for growth or other changes?
Paul: Jim ‘N Nick’s is looking to expand into the DTC area with the next 12 months. Our real estate guru, Phil Hicks, is hard at work helping us find the right spot. We hope to be able to create approximately 100 new jobs by 2013.
Brookfield Properties: Brag about your restaurant – what are you most excited about?
Paul: I’m most excited and proud about two aspects of what we do at Jim ‘N Nick’s. Our food: scratch-made everything! Yes, everything! No freezers in our restaurant. When we say scratch made, we mean it. Small batches of everything cooked with love all day long … just the way you’d cook a meal for your extended family on a big holiday.
Secondly, our service: We are Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen. When you step into a Jim ‘N Nick’s, we are welcoming you into our kitchen, and we will do whatever it takes to ensure you leave happy and full! We are very passionate about what we do. Every day we do it, we are going to do it the best we can! It’s all “made with passion, and served with pride.”
Brookfield Properties: Why should other restaurants or companies move to Central Park?
Paul: So many reasons! The growth potential for any business here is very promising. We anticipate adding jobs in Central Park at a rate of 10% per year for the next five years. It seems every day, someone comes into Jim ‘N Nick’s and says “I have never been here before, but I heard about Central Park and had to check it out.”
Central Park is still in the early stages of growth. The commuter rail is going to stop right in Central Park soon, which will provide additional tourism traffic as well as make commuting easier for potential employees.
