Brookfield Properties: Why did you choose to locate in Central Park ?
Scott & Maura: We moved to Park Hill in 1995 and have witnessed the tremendous growth of Central Park over the years. We prefer to be close to our clients and office primarily out of our home, with a back office in Westminster, Colorado that was founded in 1911. Several of our close friends live in Central Park and we strongly believe in patronizing the businesses on 29th Avenue as well as those in Quebec Square, The Shops at Northfield and throughout Central Park . We attend the Colorado Rapids (MLS) games and love the Central Park Rec Center, sports fields and community pools. We want our clients to know us as people first, and being in the community is a big part of that philosophy.
Brookfield Properties: What do you like about this community, compared to other office areas such as downtown and DTC?
Scott & Maura: We think it is very important for our clients to know us as both neighbors as well as business people. We love Central Park because of all the wonderful families who live, work, and play here. All the new kids and young families keep a community energetic and vibrant. We’ve met many families through school, sports teams, and social outings. We like that everything is so close together and both pedestrian and bike friendly. Parking is also easy if you need to take your car…and all of the community playgrounds are fantastic!
Brookfield Properties: What are your plans for growth or other changes?
Scott & Maura: We love to meet new people and welcome new clients. Our agency has been in Colorado since 1911, and our mission is to pass the legacy to the next generation. In order to do that, we need to grow. Whether individuals, families, or small business owners, we have the capacity, experience, knowledge and network to handle most any situation. We enjoy being out in the community, meeting folks and developing new relationships.
Brookfield Properties: Brag about your business – what are you most excited about?
Scott & Maura: The products and services we help our clients purchase give them security, confidence, and comfort in their financial well-being today and across generations. It’s quite rewarding to see a client in the community, knowing the work we’ve done has given them and their loved ones peace of mind to focus on the fun in life. There’s a great sense of fulfillment on a personal level.
Whether they are a family with kids, empty nesters or retired, we bring a unique and objective perspective to help our clients become more efficient with their finances. Much of the so-called “financial advice” prevalent today revolves around products and returns, entirely ignoring the process and the goals. Akin to playing sports, the equipment required is a distant second to the technique necessary to use it properly. So much of the work we do is educational, and if we can’t better the client’s position, then we won’t take the next step.
When we visit with people to hear their life stories, along with their goals and challenges, they know we care because we take the risk of our time and effort long before we receive compensation for our work. If warranted, we will take a look at the entire financial picture. Quite often, some of our recommendations are to meet with outside experts in a specific discipline. We purposely chose the name Partners as part of our company identity for this reason. Whether attorneys, tax professionals, insurance agents or bankers, we recognize personal financial services covers a broad range of disciplines.
Outside partners provide expertise with public & private investments, capital formation, debt, property & casualty insurance, real estate, oil & gas investments, and business services to name a few. With our broad based network of trusted professionals, we frequently make introductions to experts in executive recruiting, philanthropic partners, information technology services, and even one-offs such as personal security detail. We embrace the famly office model, because the business in life can be complex.
