One of Eastbridge Town Center’s anchor tenants, Wild Flowers, is bringing a fresh sense of place to the 80238 — and natural joy to residents who have shopped the store’s vibrant selection of products. Located adjacent to Endorphin, HashTAG and behind Los Chingones, the garden, gift and home shop is pleased with their decision to open a second location.
“We were the second business to open in the Eastbridge towncenter, and the rest of the units were still under construction. However, there was quite a bit of walking traffic, so we did a soft launch in March. The neighbors welcomed us with open arms, and have been very excited we’re here. And we are too. Everyone in Central Park loves living here, and there is a great sense of community “said co-owner Brian Tepp.
Wild Flowers strives to continuously support the local makers movement and small business community, sourcing the highest quality of houseplants, indoor gardening materials, and more of nature’s decor from local artisans. In addition, the store also works with a slew of artisans across the US and Europe.
“We support all local businesses that align with our merchandising strategy. In addition, we do the bulk of our buying in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Los Vegas, and San Francisco. We like to focus on start-up companies, which helps us differentiate our product offering from big box stores.” said Tepp.
Owners Jonah and Brian opened Wild Flowers in 1996 in the Congress Park Neighborhood, and understood what a unique opportunity they had by opening a second location in an equally supportive community.
“After doing our initial market research we discovered that there was a need for a store like Wild Flowers in Central Park. In addition, the [business owners] conducted a two focus groups with 30 – 40 Central Park residents and both groups mentioned they wanted a store like Wild Flowers. It was also noted that to buy gifts they often had to drive all the way to Cherry Creek. The demographics in Central Park matched our target market, so it made sense.” says Tepp.
The 2,000 square-foot-space features a mix of merchandise similar to the Congress Park location, plus dedicated space for hosting classes on terrariums, succulent gardening and more. Almost a third of the space is devoted to a lush, plant filled garden area with running fountains and exotic houseplants likely not found anywhere else.
Merchandise selection ranges from an assortment of specialty house plants and garden statuary and fountains to botanically-based bath and body care products, candles, and handcrafted furniture and accessories.
“The merchandise mix is very similar to the Congress Park location. However, you will find variations like an expanded baby/kids area, more grab and go gifts. Teacher holiday gifts are big in Central Park, so that is an area that we will continue to focus on by offering unique gifts at affordable prices “said Tepp.
Wild Flowers brings personalized services and merchandise appeal to the Eastbridge Town center—and fully enjoys its new central, convenient and accessible location. Customers can work out, grab a bite to eat at any surrounding eateries, then pop into Wild Flowers and gather a special gift or enjoy a simple ‘Treat Yourself’ moment.
Wild Flowers is located at 10155 E. 29th Avenue, #140 and open Monday-Saturday, 10am-6pm and Sundays from 11am to 5pm.
