Welcoming First Residents to Bluff Lake Neighborhood

Today we officially welcomed the first eight families to take residence in Aurora’s Bluff Lake Neighborhood. This new enclave of homes begins at 26th Avenue and Fulton Street, and is roughly 10 blocks  to the Bluff Lake Nature Center and an even shorter distance from much of the new commercial development taking shape in the area, including Stanley Marketplace and the Eastbridge Town Center— as well as new parks, baseball fields and recreational amenities.

Aurora Mayor Steve Hogan sent a message noting “There is so much exciting new development taking place in this part of Aurora and these new residents will be in the heart of it all.”   Aurora City Councilwoman Sally Mounier, who represents the area,  greeted the new residents at the event and offered to give them a tour of the many nearby amenities in Aurora.

The Bluff Lake neighborhood originally launched in 2012 adjacent to the 123-acre Bluff Lake Nature Center bordering Central Park’s eastern edge. This new parcel adds an additional 27 acres to the current 63 acres in Bluff Lake neighborhood and will feature 322 new home base pricing from the high $300s to $500s from five of Central Park’s  builders including Thrive Home Builders, Wonderland Homes, Boulder Creek Neighborhoods, KB Home and David Weekley Homes.

The Bluff Lake Neighborhood is uniquely positioned at the intersection of city and scenery–giving residents easy access to three neighborhood parks, each designed to please the senses: Rumble Park, with sound-based features for kids; Cherry Pie Park, featuring a Montmorency cherry tree bosque; and Bouquet Park, with plants selected for their aromatic scents and the 25-acre 26th Avenue Park with Central Park’s first baseball/multiuse fields. And there’s more to explore beyond the neighborhood boundaries, with expansive open spaces like Sand Creek Regional Greenway, Westerly Creek, and Morehead Rec Center in Aurora–which is currently being renovated.

The Anschutz Medical Campus and the Fitzsimons Life Science District is within minutes of the neighborhood, too. K-12 students who live within the Aurora boundaries of the Bluff Lake neighborhood will attend Aurora Public Schools. Learn more at aurorak12.org.
