Rose Stapleton ER is Proud to Serve the Community

By: Skylar Colclazier

Rose Medical Center has been serving families for nearly 70 years, growing and developing along with the Denver community. After years of searching to find the right home, Rose Medical Center chose Central Park to plant roots for its first freestanding emergency room: the Rose Stapleton ER—now open and offering emergency care for the whole family.

The Rose Stapleton ER is simply an extension of the main hospital on 9th Avenue and Cherry Street in Denver, operating in the same way and delivering the same expertise and outstanding patient care that has earned Rose its noteworthy reputation.

“When someone walks into the Rose Stapleton ER, they are walking into Rose Medical Center,” says Steve Forbes, director of emergency services at Rose Medical Center. “It’s as though the Rose Stapleton ER is at the end of a long hallway that leads to the main hospital. For those in the community, it’s a convenient way to access the same trusted emergency care they are accustomed to at Rose.”

Rose is rooted in a commitment to the Denver community: founded by a group of Jewish physicians in 1948 to “serve the need of every creed,” Rose not only welcomed the first Jewish doctors to practice but also the first African American doctors and female physician in Denver. Over the years, while continually striving to improve the patient experience and grow its scope and expertise of medical care, Rose has been honored with numerous awards and accolades. Among the prestigious awards, Rose has been ranked one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals® by Truven Health Analytics™ nine times, most recently in 2016. Rose was also recognized as “Best Hospital” in ColoradoBIZ magazine’s 2016 Best of Colorado Business Choice Awards. Rose has even been named twice as one of the top eight hospitals in the nation to give birth, according to Fit Pregnancy magazine.

The Rose Stapleton ER is open 24/7 and staffed with the same board-certified emergency physicians and specially-trained nurses from the main hospital. With 11 patient rooms, an X-ray machine, top of the line CT scanner, designated isolation and decontamination areas and more, the 10,447-square-foot facility is fully equipped with the technology, resources and expert team needed to handle any situation. Connection to the main hospital’s large pool of resources means patients will experience seamless access to the quality care they need.

Rose also places a huge emphasis on community outreach and involvement. With the Rose Stapleton ER, the hospital will only expand its engagement with the community, just as it has throughout the Greater Denver community since 1948.
