Thrive Home Builders’ Net-Zero home will reward homeowners with a free utility bill.

“Years ago, we believed we could set the standard in energy efficiency for new homes, and this net-zero project is further confirmation of our success,” said Gene Myers, Thrive’s chief executive officer.

Residents and others can now experience a sneak peak of the Net-Zero home in Central Park West Neighborhood!

It’s at 8146 E. 35th Ave. and open noon to 5 p.m. Sundays, noon to 6 p.m. Mondays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

The Net-Zero home use energy sparingly – collecting it through solar panels, while using insulation to retain heat in the winter and cool air in the summer.

Its energy features can now be added to all of Thrive Home Builders’ homes. The addition will cost $26,900, but could pay for itself after about eight years of no utility bills.

“While we have consistently averaged single-family Home Energy Rating System (HERS) scores in the fifties, we are not content to rest there; and we are excited to be approaching the day in which our customers will save hundreds of dollars a month on their energy bills,” Myers said.

Thrive’s Net-Zero home has a HERS score of zero. The scoring was developed by the Residential Energy Services Network to measure energy consumption.
